Receives Prestigious Awards From American Cancer Society
Port Huron, MI…For more than 20 years, Mercy Hospital and its Mercy Regional Cancer Center has been working in conjunction with the American Cancer Society to fight cancer and provide outstanding supports and services to patients throughout the region.
Mercy Hospital is pleased to announce it was recently honored with the Five Star Community Investor and Five Star Investor Awards from the American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division Inc. These awards are presented to highlight active work in fighting cancer both internally within the workplace and throughout the community. Mercy Hospital was honored for its commitment to it’s: cancer committee and publication of the www.cancer.org website; Reach to Recovery program; Breast and Cervical Cancer Programs; Celebrating Cancer Survivors; holding cancer screenings; and commitment to tobacco prevention and cessation.

Mercy Hospital was the first hospital in the community to receive this type of award from the American Cancer Society in 2004.
