MERCY – CHAFTY MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING
RAISES $76,000 TO MEET LOCAL MEDICAL NEEDS
Port Huron, MI…A hole in one was hit for patients
of the Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health and the Mercy
Regional Cancer Center as participants of the Mercy –
Chafty Memorial Golf Outing raised $76,000 to help support
much needed medical care throughout the community.
The golf outing, held in August 2005, celebrated its Silver
Anniversary and was host to hundreds of golfers at Port
Huron Golf Club. Special thanks and appreciation are extended
to this year’s event sponsors, golfers and volunteers.
Monies raised will be used to support the Peoples’
Clinic for Better Health, a unique health care clinic, sponsored
by Mercy Hospital and the St. Clair County Medical Society,
with prescription funding provided through the United Way
of St. Clair County. The program provides primary care medical
services to low income individuals throughout community
who have no insurance and lack the financial resources to
pay for their care. Funds raised at the event will also
be used to support the Mercy Regional Cancer Center.
For more information about the event or to find out more
