Mercy Hospital Medical Director Named Emergency Physician
Of The Year
Port Huron, MI…Mercy Hospital is pleased to announce
that Jere Baldwin, MD, Mercy Emergency Services Medical
Director, has been named the 2004 recipient of the Emergency
Physician of the Year Award, presented by the Michigan College
of Emergency Physicians.
This is the fourth year the award has been presented. The
purpose of the award is to recognize clinicians of unusual
merit who are an outstanding emergency physician role model;
maintain high professional standards and clinical orientation;
provide quality health care; and are active in community
service and education.
“In my mind, this award has been granted because
of outstanding team effort,” states Jere Baldwin,
MD. “I have a very strong team at Mercy; and, simply
put, they make me look good. Because of their knowledge
and expertise, I am available to participate in activities
such as EMS training, educational endeavors and community
outreach. The atmosphere around the Emergency Room is energized
due to the announcement of this award. Everyone is taking
ownership in it. As a team, we are doing very good work
here.”
“Mercy Hospital is extremely proud of the efforts
of Dr. Baldwin in developing, enhancing and providing outstanding
emergency medical care,” comments Peter Karadoff,
Mercy Hospital President and CEO. “Dr. Baldwin is
an outstanding example of leadership and professionalism
to everyone at Mercy Hospital.”
Dr. Baldwin was recently presented the award at the Michigan
Emergency Medicine Assembly, a professional conference held
in July on Mackinac Island. |
