Mercy Hospital Hosts
Headache Education And Support Group
Port Huron, MI…Mercy Hospital is pleased to announce that it has joined with the National Headache Foundation to host a Headache Education & Support Group for Blue Water residents.
Headache Education & Support Group meetings are free and will be held the third Tuesday of each month, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in the lower level Auditorium of Mercy Hospital, 2601 Electric Avenue, Port Huron. The first meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, 2007, will feature a discussion on good nutrition.
The National Headache Foundation reports that more than 45 million Americans suffer from chronic, recurring headaches. Although much is known about the different types of headache, ongoing research continues to reveal new drugs, new diagnostic techniques and new therapies.
The Headache Education & Support Group will be facilitated by Donna Smith, RN, a professional of the Mercy Pain Management Clinic, and Howard James, a local resident who will co-facilitate the group as a layperson. Each month, group members will learn valuable information to support them in dealing with headache and other useful health and educational tips. This group is open to those who suffer headache, their family members and all interested community members.
For more information about the Headache Education & Support Group, please call Donna Smith at (810) 989-7461. For more information about the National Headache Foundation, established in 1970, go to www.headaches.org.
