Mercy Hosts Diabetes Education Health Fair and Production of “Take Charge of Your Diabetes”
Port Huron, MI…According to the American Diabetes Association there are 20.8 million children and adults in the United States diagnosed with diabetes. To help area patients better understand and manage their diabetes, Mercy Hospital and its Diabetes Education Center is hosting “Take Charge of Your Diabetes”.
The event will be held Saturday, November 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Mercy Hospital cafetorium. In addition to educational display booths, a continental breakfast and lunch, the event will feature a play in seven acts offering a light-hearted and entertaining way of providing important and vital diabetes self-management education. The delightful cast of characters includes Mercy Hospital diabetes educators as well as Sushma Reddy, MD, a leading area endocrinologist; and Robert Camara, DO, a local family practice physician.
