Motorcycle for Mercy Planned to Raise Funds for Peoples' Clinic for Better Health
Port Huron , MI …Mercy Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce Motorcycles for Mercy Poker Run & Classic Cars. This Inaugural event will take place Saturday, July 29, 2006, 10:30 a.m., Gilbert’s Harley Davidson, located at 3350 Lapeer Road, Port Huron. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. This new and interesting event is being organized with the assistance of a group of local community members.
Funds raised will be provided to the Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health. The Peoples’ Clinic was established 15 years ago and is co-sponsored by the St. Clair County Medical Society, Mercy Hospital, and a core group of dedicated volunteers. While physicians and the majority of nurses volunteer their time, the clinic does incur costs for programs offered such as prescription medications, diagnostic testing, education, and disease management.
There is a $25 registration and a $10 passenger fee to participate in Motorcycles for Mercy. Participants will also need a motorcycle or a classic car. The event will feature an 80 mile run, starting at Gilbert’s Harley Davidson, on Lapeer. The run will then proceed to: AJ’s Salt Docks, Marine City; Penalty Box, Memphis; Dorsey House, Clyde Township; with the final destination of the Military Street Café, Port Huron. The grand prize will be a Harley Davidson nylon-riding jacket. In addition, a number of terrific gifts and prizes will be raffled to help raise funds for this important community program.
