Peoples' Clinic for Better Health Requests Volunteer Registered Nurses

Port Huron, MI…Port Huron’s only free medical clinic for adults 18 to 64 years of age is recruiting volunteer registered nurses. Registered nurses interested in volunteering must be willing to provide professional services in four hour work blocks, accept flexible scheduling, be licensed by the State of Michigan, and offer proven basic nursing skills.

Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health is cosponsored by the St. Clair County Medical Society and Mercy Hospital; and is funded in part by the United Way of St. Clair County. Basic medical services are provided to those who lack insurance and the financial resources to pay for their care. The clinic operates Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week, and opens at 8 a.m.

“As the community continues to experience economic decline, we are seeing an increased influx of patients in need of health care,” comments Linda Lalonde, RN, director of Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health. “The need for volunteer assistance in providing care becomes necessary. This is a terrific opportunity for any registered nurse who might want to provide volunteer services to the community.”
