Women’s Golf Outing To Benefit The Mercy Pink Ribbon Fund
Port Huron, MI… It’s all about you at the Thirteenth Annual Mercy Pink Ribbon Ladies’ Day Golf Outing to benefit the Mercy Pink Ribbon Fund. Save the date for this year’s outstanding women’s only nine-hole golf scramble designed to support local women who lack health insurance and the financial resources to pay for their care and are in need of advanced breast cancer diagnosis.
The Mercy Pink Ribbon Ladies’ Day will be held Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Fore Lakes Golf Club in Kimball Township. The event kicks off at 7 a.m., with registration and the coveted Mercy Spirit Award and Cart Decorating contests. The cost is just $75 per person and includes a continental breakfast, nine holes of golf with cart, and buffet lunch. In addition to the golf, women’s focused product vendors will be on hand to share with you the latest golf fashions, jewelry, hand bags and much more. Educational information will be available and special gifts and raffle prize drawings will also be held.
“This is an outstanding event, in an outstanding and supportive community,” comments Wendy Palmateer, of Golf Country and Chair of the Pink Ribbon Golf Outing Committee. “For years, women from throughout the region have come together to support other women in need through this event. It’s a fun-filled day and truly inspirational.”
The Mercy Pink Ribbon Ladies’ Day is cosponsored by the Mercy Hospital Foundation and Golf Country, located in Kimball Township, MI. There are a number of ways individuals and businesses can participate. Participant and business event sponsorship packages are available. Last year’s event raised $17,000 that went directly to benefit women in need in our community.
“Money raised from this event is desperately needed,” comments Sue Dawson, Mercy Hospital Financial Counselor. “Last year, through one generous donor, I was able to call a local woman back immediately to inform her that we were able to support her medical care. At age 40, and with four children, this courageous woman had just received a mammogram that was positive for breast cancer and lacked the insurance to continue her diagnostic services.”
