Vineyards of the World Supports Peoples’ Clinic

Buffet
Held at Fore Lakes Golf Club, elegant food displays featuring fromage, fruit, lamb and seafood tantalize the taste buds for those who came out to celebrate Vineyards of the World, benefiting Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health.

In the midst of a jazz playing saxophonist, scrumptious hors d’oeuvres and wines from around the world, more than 325 community members came out in support of the Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health on March 31.

Marking the event’s Fifth Anniversary, Mercy Hospital Foundation raised more than $49,000 to support medical programs and services for our community’s uninsured.

Cosponsored by Wright & Filippis, this fun-filled evening is one of the premier wine tasting events in the community, bringing not only local residents, but supporters from across Southeast Michigan together to raise funds for this important project.

Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health provides free medical care to adults 18 to 64 years of age at its facility, located within the Guadalupe Mission on Port Huron’s southside. The clinic is cosponsored by the St. Clair County Medical Society and Mercy Hospital, and is funded by the United Way of St. Clair County.

“As our community continues to face the challenges of an uncertain economy, services provided by organizations such as the Peoples’ Clinic will become ever more important in sustaining the health of our community,” comments Peter Karadjoff, Mercy Hospital President and CEO. “This event receives incredible support, not only from participants, but from business sponsors because it is deeply rooted in the human capacity to reach out and support others in need.”

If you’d like to participate, your help is needed. Join Mercy Hospital in helping to raise awareness of the plight of the uninsured during Cover the Uninsured Week, April 23 - 29. To find out more about this important grass-roots program, visit www.covertheuninsured.org.
