“Vineyards of the World”
Sixth Annual Wine Tasting Event to Benefit Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health

Vineyards of the WorldSnow, rain, cold, heat — as early as 4 a.m., patients begin to line up just for an opportunity to visit one of the many volunteer physicians at Peoples’ Clinic for Better Health.

Peoples’ Clinic, cosponsored by the St. Clair County Medical Society and Mercy Hospital, has been providing primary medical care for 18 years to those in our community who lack health insurance and the financial resources to pay for their care.

To help financially support the clinic, philanthropic programs are held throughout the year. The Mercy Hospital Foundation’s signature event is the annual “Vineyards of the World” wine tasting event.

Wright & Filippis cosponsors the evening with the Mercy Hospital Foundation to raise awareness and much needed funds.

This year’s event will be held Friday, April 18, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at Fore Lakes Golf Club in Kimball Township. The event costs just $75 to attend and includes an evening of taste sensations sure to please both the novice wine taster as well as the most discriminating.

Wines from around the world will be showcased, including Italy, Spain and Australia; with new releases from the vineyards of California.

In addition, each wine will be complemented with mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres sure to enhance the wine tasting experience.

The evening’s program also includes a Dessert Station — and back by popular demand — a spectacular Martini Station featuring both old and new favorites.

“This event has been extremely successful in both raising awareness regarding the issues of the uninsured as well as funding to support the financial operations of the clinic,” explains Rich Seim, Vineyards of the World Committee Chair for the Mercy Hospital Foundation. “In addition to being financially necessary, this event has become an important avenue for residents throughout the community to support the work of the Peoples’ Clinic.”

Business and organizational sponsorship opportunities are still available.
