MERCY HOSPITAL HOSTS NUTRITION DURING CANCER TREATMENT
EDUCATIONAL CLASS
Port Huron, MI …Mercy Nutrition and Food
Services is pleased to host a special educational program
designed just for cancer patients: Nutrition During Cancer
Treatment. Throughout this five-part class, participants
will learn how cancer treatment may affect nutrition as
well as tips for handling problems related to nutrition,
including loss of appetite, nausea, weight loss and weight
gain. Each two-hour program will be offered every six to
eight weeks. The cost of each event is only $5.
Topics of upcoming classes include:
- How cancer affects nutritional needs
- How treatment may affect nutrition
- Tips for handling problems in relation to nutrition
and cancer
- Weight loss and loss of appetite
- Weight gain
- Diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting
The first of the educational classes will be held Wednesday,
May 17, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the Mercy Hospital Second
Floor Conference Room. Refreshments will be served. Seating
is limited, please call (810) 985-1479 to speak to a Mercy
Registered Dietitian and reserve your seat today. Additional
classes will be held June 28, August 16, September 27 and
November 1.
