Jere Baldwin, MD, Presented with AHA Johnson Zacharais Award for Excellence
Port Huron , MI … Mercy Hospital is proud to announce that Jere Baldwin, MD, Mercy Hospital Emergency Services Medical Director was awarded the American Heart Association (AHA’s) Johnson Zacharais Award for Excellence at its Annual Blue Water Heart Ball, held in late-April 2006. This award is extended to a physician who has significantly advanced the cause of heart care in St. Clair County, making a clear and lasting contribution to the mission of the AHA, which is to reduce death and disability due to heart disease and stroke.
“We are delighted that Dr. Baldwin was honored in such a way,” comments Peter Karadjoff, Mercy Hospital President & CEO. “Dr. Baldwin is a tireless and dedicated physician, who has continually placed a focus on paramedic, staff and physician training to promote high-quality care for cardiac and stroke patients throughout the entire spectrum of emergency care.”
Honored to be included with peers who have previously been recognized by the AHA, Dr. Baldwin states, “We have a very strong team approach to the care of cardiac and stroke patients. Our focus starts with outstanding paramedic training, which results in care beginning in the field. It is followed up here at Mercy Hospital with a team of physicians and nurses who are dedicated to ensuring the patient receives the best care possible. This team approach is the significant ingredient to this outstanding award by the AHA. On behalf of my team, we are extremely grateful to be honored in such a way.”
