Emergency
Department
No one wants to have a medical emergency, but when you
do there is only one place to count on for emergency medical
care! Designed to provide outstanding and advanced treatment
with an emphasis on both your time, comfort and your privacy,
24-hours a day, it’s Mercy Emergency Services.
For
more than 50 years, Mercy Hospital has been providing emergency
services to patients throughout the area. Mercy’s
Emergency Department, located at the Northwest corner of
the hospital, is a 15-bed unit, offering dedicated parking
and private rooms. The Emergency Department’s staff
are highly-qualified and have received specialized training
in the treatment of all types of accidents, injuries and
illnesses, for patients both young and old.
Over the past decade, Mercy has seen a shift in the emergency
medical needs of the community and has developed and streamlined
services to meet those specific needs, including the construction
of a new facility. As part of its advanced services, Mercy
is the only hospital in the area to guarantee medical treatment
will begin within 20 minutes of your arrival, or you’ll
receive a FREE gift. What could be a greater commitment
to your care – advanced emergency services, placing
a value on both your time and your privacy?
Providing Life-Saving Services to the Community
Mercy is not only dedicated to providing lifesaving emergency
medical care and treatment to individuals, but has recognized
that it is located in what the United States federal government
has deemed a “high-risk” area for both natural
and man-made disasters. To be fully prepared for disaster
that may occur locally, Mercy Hospital constructed a dedicated
HAZMT facility within its Emergency Department. What’s
more, Mercy Emergency Department staff routinely participate
in disaster planning and preparedness meetings, activities
and events both locally and throughout the Southeast Michigan
region. The Mercy Emergency Department personnel are not
only dedicated to individual patients, but the entire community.
