Providing Life-Saving Services to the Community

Mercy is not only dedicated to providing lifesaving emergency medical care and treatment to individuals, but has recognized that it is located in what the United States federal government has deemed a “high-risk” area for both natural and man-made disasters. To be fully prepared for disaster that may occur locally, Mercy Hospital constructed a dedicated HAZMT facility within its Emergency Department. What’s more, Mercy Emergency Department staff routinely participate in disaster planning and preparedness meetings, activities and events both locally and throughout the Southeast Michigan region. The Mercy Emergency Department personnel are not only dedicated to individual patients, but the entire community.
